Mom’s Tip of the Week 15

Did you know ... ?

It may be time for larger shoes. During pregnancy, your wardrobe changes may have to include both clothes and footwear. That’s because your body is retaining extra fluid—including in your feet. At 15 weeks pregnant, consider trying on some slip-on shoes in one size (or even two sizes) bigger than you normally wear. Some women’s feet remain a size larger even after their little one is born.

Your Baby at 15 Weeks Pregnant

What’s Happening in There

  • Your baby is now the size of a navel orange. When you hit 15 weeks pregnant, she will weigh about two and a half ounces and measures four inches in length.
  • Her skeletal system and muscles continue to rapidly develop.Bones are getting stronger and starting to harden.
  • She is looking more adorable in a baby like way every day. Her skin is developing, although it’s so translucent that you can see the blood vessels just below the surface.
  • She is developing hair. It’s beginning to appear on her eyebrows and head.

Baby Brain Waves

Your Baby’s Brain Is Developing

Though still relatively small, your baby’s brain is powering amazing developments in the area of motor skills, as she’s now able to wiggle her fingers and toes. She can also move her head, arms, wrists, hands, and feet. In fact, when you’re 15 weeks pregnant your baby can change positions and flip around quite a bit—though you won’t feel it yet. She can make breathing movements, too; plus, she can suck (her thumb) and swallow.
