Put out non-toxic modeling clay, and invite your little one to manipulate the clay using their hands. Demonstrate how to make a few different things-- a ball, a snake, and other animal shapes. Let your imagination go wild. Try creating a mini birthday cake like a real pastry chef. Help your child shape it, and when you're done, put a candle on it and encourage them to blow. Finally, celebrate with a round of applause. This activity helps boost coordination and dexterity. But it also inspires kids to create different shapes from the same object.
