Cow's Milk Protein Allergy is one of the more common baby allergies. It results from a hypersensitivity of the body's immune system to the proteins in cow's milk and manifests as an allergic reaction in different parts of the body. Most babies who suffer from Cow's Milk Protein Allergy outgrow it within their first year, with others by the time that they are 3 years old. While not all baby allergies are related to diet, Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy can be managed either by eliminating milk and milk products for breastfeeding women or by a hypoallergenic (extensively hydrolyzed) formula such as Nutramigen® A+® with LGG®.
