Discover how bacteria are beneficial to your baby’s health.

In fact, "good" bacteria strengthen your baby’s immune system and help her have a healthy digestive tract. Here’s more good news: You can ensure she gets lots of “good” bacteria from what you feed her. Read on to learn how.
Your baby’s digestive system has trillions of what are called "gut bacteria". Some are beneficial or "good"; others can be harmful or “bad.” What’s the difference?
As your growing baby becomes more active and mobile, she’s exposed to more germs—so it’s important to help build her immune system with "good" gut bacteria.
You can do this in two ways. You can feed the "good" bacteria on carbohydrates that help them grow and multiply in your baby’s digestive system. Or you can give her foods that contain live "good" bacteria.
