Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between infant formula and a nutritional supplement?

Infant formula (such as Enfamil A+®) is intended for the first 12 months of life. Some infant formulas for older babies (such as Enfapro® A+®) can be used from 6 months up to 18 months of age. Infant formulas can provide the sole source of nutrition for the first 6 months. Most infants begin some solid foods around 6 months of age, and infant formula continues to provide a major source of nutrition.

A toddler nutritional supplement such as Enfagrow® is not an infant formula, and is not intended to replace breast milk or formula for children less than one year. Enfagrow is designed for toddlers 12-36 months of age and can help bridge gaps in nutrition to support healthy growth and development. It is ideal for toddlers who have transitioned to table food and cow’s milk, but may not be meeting the recommended diet suggested by Canada’s Food Guide. Balanced nutrition to support normal healthy growth and development.
