Pregestimil® A+® Hypoallergenic Infant Formula

A hypoallergenic, extensively hydrolyzed, infant formula for the dietary management of babies who experience fat malabsorption and who may also be sensitive to intact proteins.

Fat malabsorption or steatorrhea may be associated with cystic fibrosis, short bowel syndrome, intractable diarrhea, and severe protein calorie malnutrition. Pregestimil® A+® contains 55% of the fat blend from medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) oil. MCT oil provides a source of fat that is effectively absorbed by babies with fat malabsorption.

Pregestimil® A+® is only available in pharmacies behind the counter and is only used with a doctor’s recommendation. So, ask your pharmacist for Pregestimil® A+®.

Pregestimil® A+® may be available through provincial drug benefits programs. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you qualify for Regie de l’assurance Maladie du Quebec or the Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living programs.
