How much formula to feed your baby

How often to feed your baby.

Generally, formula fed babies eat every 3-4 hours during their first weeks.

Why he needs to eat so often.

His tiny stomach can't hold much yet. After a few weeks, he'll cut down on the number of feedings and drink more at each one.

How to make sure your baby is eating enough.

Proper weight gain is the truest test of whether or not your baby is eating enough. Here’s another test-count wet diapers. If you get 6 or more per day, and your baby is happy between feedings, she’s likely getting plenty to eat.

Baby knows best: follow your baby’s cues to see when she’s hungry. Don’t try to force her to continue feeding when she’s not hungry.
