Long before he established his company in 1905, Edward Mead Johnson, Sr., was deeply concerned about infant nutrition. Years earlier, his own infant son Ted had survived a serious feeding problem. E. Mead knew that nutrition was critical for babies that did not have access to breast milk or could not tolerate homemade feedings.
